| Coaches Medal at Nationals... 3x's!! | Last Changed 2010-06-08 | | | | Congratulations to Coach Kelly and Coach Wendy who traveled to Phoneix, AZ during the first week of June to compete in the USAV Adult Open National Championships. Your coaches played in three different sessions over a total of 8 days and brought home 3 medals!!
First up was the Reverse Co-Ed division. In this 2 day tournament the 3 guys (Dun, Tad, and Kurt) and 3 girls (Kelly, Wendy, Kim) played together on a women's height net where only the girls are allowed to hit. So much fun! The Muffins and Men brought home the Bronze Medal in Reverse Co-Ed!
Second in this marathon of volleyball was the 2 day U-Volley session. U-Volley is 6v6 women's volleyball but there's a catch, you have to be 5'9 or under to play! So it's short girl volleyball! Coach Kelly and Coach Wendy joined team Radiation to bring home the GOLD Medal!! Coach Kelly and Coach Wendy were recognized as members of the All-Tournament Team with Coach Kelly being named tournament MVP!!
And finally the last four days were spent playing in the BB women's tournament. This is normal 6v6 women's volleyball. The Muffin Tops, including Low Fat Muffin (Coach Kelly) and Mini Muffin (Coach Wendy) went undefeated in pool play to advance to the Gold Bracket where they battled through the losers bracket after dropping a match to make it to the finals! After a hard fought 3 set finals the Muffins fell just short and brought home the Silver Medal! Coach Kelly was recognized as a member of the All-Tournament team!
Congratulations to our Coaches!

Congratulations to McIntosh 06 Alum, Megan Cheatham, who, as a senior at Berry College has set the all time assist record for the Lady Vikings! Cheatham was a standout setter here at MHS during her career and we are so proud of her and her continued success at the collegiate level. Way to go Megan!
Excerpt from article:
"It was really appropriate that Megan set her own personal best and
set the Berry career assist record this weekend," said Berry head coach
Mika Robinson. "She did an excellent job running our offense and
putting our hitters in good positions to score. She has had a
tremendous senior year."
Cheatham came into the match
against LaGrange with 2,500 career assists and needed just four assists
to become the schools all-time leader in that department. The senior
from Peachtree City, Ga. did more than that and tallied 22 assists
total in the match. For the full article click here.
